Morphological and physiological variation in drought tolerance of wheat landraces originated from southeast Türkiye

Drought stress, which is the most important abiotic stress factor affecting arable land in world, causes serious crop losses. These losses reach up to 70% some agricultural plants. Understanding complex drought response very develop a strategy against this form of stress. Although progress has been achieved with previous studies, desired targets have not reached now. Therefore, using resistant varieties environmental conditions become widely used combating today. In study, total 23 cultivars (16-landraces and 7 modern wheat cultivars) were used. The aim study was reveal tolerance degrees 16 landraces by comparing them cultivars. For purpose, exposed for seven days withholding watering. After that, stem length, MDA proline content determined compared. According our results, contents sensitive found be high, while tolerant low. It also that exhibit similar profile known tolerant.
